Environmental Effects

Construction-related effects may arise from excavation of the channel for the collector structure, and there are potential visual impacts associated with the access track and structures.

Operationally, the only identified potential effects relate to noise generation from turbine exhaust and to interference with farming operations adjacent to the site.

On analysis, all effects will be less than minor for reasons set out in the AEE and summarised as follows:

•    Short term nature of construction activity - one-off operation.
•    Excavation methodology designed to limit area of effect.
•    Track construction to be undertaken using low visibility materials.
•    Site isolation from viewpoints
•    Low profile buildings to minimise visual disruption
•    Cladding intended to blend with surrounding landscape
•    Provision of noise attenuation in turbine house design.
